Creative Portraiture Meet-up
Sunday 11 June

This event will focus on on portraiture of models in an outdoor/creative setting, utilizing natural light.
We will be joined by three local models, delicately crafted props/sets and the beauty of nature alongside us. During our time together we will discuss "styled shoots", how they support us as photographers and they also support our fellow creatives. We will explore posing ideas, golden hour lighting, natural light, and crafting a creative eye.
Garden Party Styled Shoot - We will talk about what it means to host a creative shoot, finding models, TFP terms, posing, golden hour, utilizing props, building a portfolio and vendor relationships and more.
Beginner's Photography Class

Join us as we break down your camera to help you learn about shutter speed, aperture, ISO and how these settings affect your exposure.
We will then put your new knowledge to the test with the guidance of a professional photographer.
Dusk & Night Landscapes
Saturday 10 June
Museum District - 8pm - 2 Hours
In this workshop, we will explore the art of capturing stunning and dramatic landscape images during the hours of dusk and night.
Our experienced instructor will guide you through the process of understanding and applying the principles of landscape photography, including composition, exposure, and lighting. We will cover topics such as capturing the mood and atmosphere of a scene, using long exposures to create unique effects, and using light sources to add interest and depth to your images.
Sunrise Photography Meetup
Saturday 17 June
Belle Isle - 6am - 2 Hours
Students will learn how to use the proper settings to capture a beautiful sunrise. You will most likely need to use manual settings or switch to AV (aperture) mode.
Long Exposure Photography
Saturday 24 June
Belle Isle - 10am - 2 Hours
Learn the basics of long exposure to capture light trails along with tripod photography.
Long exposure refers to a technique where you keep the shutter open for an unusually long period of time. This results to interesting effects in your photographs.

Black and White Photography
Saturday 08 July
Campus Martius - 2pm - 2 Hours
Introduction to Black and White Photography. What makes a good Black and White shot?
We will look at the contrast and using textures. How does the camera see the image and how do we create Black and White images in a camera or in post-production. We will look for some good examples and set some exercises.
This is a more advanced course and assumes you understand the basics of photography and controlling your camera.
Architecture Photography

Architectural photography can be a great way of exploring and documenting a city, whether it's your home or on holiday. Its about capturing not only the design and accurate representation of a building, but to have the shots be aesthetically pleasing to the viewer's eye. An architectural photographer makes pictures, not takes pictures.
In this session, we will be covering how to better understand Architecture photography and we'll be looking at ways to take some impressive shots and the camera settings to use.
